It all started long ago with wanting to be a Funkadelic , a Family Stone, a Hendrix player and believe it or not, a Beatle. Well for NowChild some of his dreams came true. In the late nineties he became the drummer for George Clinton’s Parliament Funkadelic, P-Funk All Stars and Bootsy Collins.
After being caged in with the giants, NowChild is free and up front for his own project. He has played some of the most well known venues in the states and overseas. The Fox Theatre in Detroit, The Forum and The House of Blues in LA, The Paradisio in Amsterdam, The Zeleste in Spain, The Fillmore in San Francisco, The Ramshead in Baltimore to name a few. He has also performed alongside artist like Lenny Kravitz, Nick Cave, Sheila E, Stevie Wonder, Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Flea (Chili Peppers), The Beastie Boys and many more. Some major festivals like Lolapaloosa, Woodstock, Artscape etc.
He is also the guitarist and front man for the group (Let The Monkey Go) which at one time included two P-Funk Rock and Roll Hall Of Famers, the late Garry Shider and Cordell (Boogie) Mosson, Ben Cowan and occasionally Micheal (Kid Funkadelic) Hampton. His live performance often feature national and regional recording artist. So sit back or stand up booty shakers and enjoy the ride.
NowChild’s last year was spent in the studio putting together his debut solo CD (Something’s Fishy). It’s a collection of mostly originals with a few covers influenced by some of his heroes. Just one listen to these infectious grooves will take you on a highly energized journey whether CD or live performance.
